Contest prize for one of the winners of FemSlashWeek11’, A Merry Little Christmas. Go read it, seriously, it was my personal favorite.
“She’s gonna be a lawyer,” Deanna brags to Castiel at Cafecito the next evening. She’s always comfortable bragging about Samantha; it’s easy to be proud of her. ”She already got into Stanford. Early decision.”
“That’s very impressive,” Castiel says, and she says it like she really is impressed. Deanna smiles.
“What do you do, Deanna?”
“A little of this, a little of that.”
This was for the Femslash week. This is for this winner fic by saltandsilverbullets. Congratulations! Sorry for the lateness.
I’ve been on the worst artist block ever, so I’m sorry for not having posted anything in a while.
Okay so the judges and I have been reading over your entries for the past few days and voting on them and it has been so hard to pick the winners. Seriously, the quality of the writing was so freaking high it was unreal. I’m amazed by the talent we’ve had writing for us this year. But eventually (after a lot of squabbling) we came to a decision and it is my great pleasure to announce the winners of SPN Femslash Week’s first fic contest!
Fic Contest Winners
Joint First Place
We couldn’t choose between them-both fics absolutely blew us away and so we decided that they both had to win! The writers will both receive an art prize from the amazingly talented and incredibly lovely -wondersmith who beyond generously offered to make another piece to account for the additional winner. Thank you so much Iva<33
This brilliant Anna/Jo fic was absolutely adorable and the writer will receive a piece of art of their pairing drawn by the fantastic fuileachd.
The sweetness and tenderness of this totally won over the judges- even those who weren’t fond of Anna/Mary! Gorgeous work! The writer will recieve art from the wonderful mooglets.
Drabble Contest Winners
Joint First Place
Both drabbles were beautiful so we decided to offer two prizes for this section as well. Each writer will receive a piece of art from either minheeboo or thepizzabear, both awesome artists who have graciously offered up their talents.
I would like to congratulate all the winners and send a huge thanks to all participants in the contest. The fic you guys produced completely went beyond all expectations. Thank you all so much for taking part! And to all the fabulous artists who are working on prizes for the winners- you guys are amazing and you have no idea how much I appreciate your hard work and help.<33
This has been so much fun everyone. I really hope we get to do it again.
Just letting you guys know that the winners will now be posted on Wednesday as one of the judges is having internet trouble and can’t get online to read the rest of the submissions or cast her votes until Tuesday night.
Thank you for your patience.
We now have a livejournal community where you guys can post your amazing femslash week fic. It’s primarily for those who are taking part in the fic contest, though if you’re not entering the competition but have written a fic for the week, you can feel free to archive it at the comm as well. :)
Remember to join and watch the community for updates!
Just reminding all authors that the LJ comm is still available to post your femslashweek fic to for archival purposes and whatnot. It’s going to be permanently open, so feel free to post at any time. :)

Characters/Pairing Tag Masterlist
A week isn't enough. How does a month sound? Or maybe all of summer. Or just all of next year, celebrating femslash. That'd be nice.
That would be awesome, huh? :3
Is there a fact, variable, thing, (or whatever you want to call it), that will give certain fics an advantage? For example; notes, word count, characters, theme, etc? I just wanna know since it's almost over and how the judging will go/contest winners will get chosen. thanks :)
The fics are judged by how much the judges enjoy them and the quality of the writing. There are five of us and we each read all the fics and give them a mark out of 10 and tally up the counts to see which fics have the highest score. That’ll help narrow down the fics so we have a select few to choose from. The judging on that part will be more of a debate amongst ourselves until we come to a consensus of what we deem to be “the best” fic.
This is the fairest method I could think of lol. If we can’t make a firm decision, then maybe we’ll open a poll up to you guys so you can vote on your favourite. We’ll see when we get there. :)
any idea of when the winners will be posted?
Monday or Tuesday, we think.
